4-H Youth Development

I am Georgia 4-H, Paulding County

4-H has been serving youth for more than 100 years! Although it began as a Corn Club for boys and a Tomato Club for girls, 4-H now teaches a more diverse range of topics from leadership to communications to community service and citizenship. 4-H Clubs can found around the world!

Paulding County 4-H is offered? for youth in a school-based club format in grades 5-8 and after-school in grades 9-12.

  • 4-H classroom clubs for 5th graders are found in all Paulding County public elementary schools. The meetings start in August and students receive instruction on public speaking skills and science lessons tied to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
  • Middle School 4-H Junior clubs for grades 6-8, meet in each of the nine Paulding County middle schools once a month starting in September; most are at the beginning of the day.? A parental signed permission form is required.?
  • Senior 4-H'ers in grades 9-12?have monthly club meeting at the 4-H/Extension office.?

4-H Resources

County offices promote and coordinate 4-H summer camp experiences unlike any other in the county. Counties travel to unique 4-H centers across the state offering fun, friendship and adventure for over 8,000 4-H'ers each summer.
The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program is one of the nation’s largest and oldest providers of local environmental education, serving over 45,000 people annually. The research-based curriculum provides hands-on learning experiences aligned with Georgia Performance Standards.
The Georgia 4-H Livestock Program gives students the opportunity to practice and acquire new knowledge in the fields of animal science, business, time management and leadership.
This core program showcases the work and success of 4-H'ers through presentations and portfolios on numerous topics. Members compete against their peers at the local, district and state levels in an effort to master their project.
The Georgia 4-H Foundation relies heavily on the efforts of volunteers to help coordinate and organize yearly alumni & friends events. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer, read more about becoming a volunteer at the Georgia 4-H website.
Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is a curriculum based and designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities.
