Mar 10 Journeyman Farmer Training-Small Ruminant Production Carrollton, GA Carroll and?Paulding County Extension?are hosting a Journeyman Farmer program that provides comprehensive training for beginning farmers. ?The program requires two-step training and the ability to complete both online training modules and in-person class meetings. Step 1: Small Farm Business Planning (March 10, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Step 2: Small Ruminant Production Online & In-Person Training (March 24, April 14, April 28, and May 12). ?Participants must complete Step One before participating in Step Two. Step 3: Intern-Mentorship Opportunities The cost for the program is $80.00. ?Registration will close on March 3, 2025.
Mar 17 Master Gardener Scholarship Application Deadline Dallas, GA Paulding County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers are offering a scholarship to Paulding County residents that are incoming college freshmen or students attending post-secondary accredited institutions. The Paulding County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer scholarship gives first consideration to students in the following fields of study: Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscaping, Forestry, Botany, Biology, and related fields. The total amount to be awarded will be administered by a scholarship committee and is normally in the range of $500-$1500. Learn more and complete the application as outlined on the Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Scholarship webpage. Deadline for submission is March 17, 2025 at 5 pm.
