海角官方首页 Extension Fayette County is a partnership of 海角官方首页, Fayette County Government, Fort Valley State University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It exists to serve all the people of Fayette County including Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone, Brooks, and in between.

Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

Feb 11 Houseplants Fayetteville, GA Houseplants can bring a lot of natural beauty to your home; however, each one can have very different growing needs. In this class, we will discuss general care for houseplants and identify plants that will do best under different conditions in your home. Please feel free to bring one of your houseplants to discuss with the group. This plant that you bring in to share could have an issue and you would like some help, or it could be one that you love and is doing fantastic.
Feb 21 Pollinator Tree Give Away Fayetteville, GA Join us for our 2025 tree give away! This year we are giving away 1 catalpa tree per family. Catalpa trees are a medium deciduous tree that has beautiful bell-shaped blossoms and large heart shaped leaves. This tree is visited by pollinators and is the host plant for the catalpa sphinx moth. This tree has also been called the fish bait tree as the catalpa sphinx moth caterpillars are good for fishing bait. You will need an open space that has full sun with moist but well-draining soils. Tree quantities are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis.
Mar 25 Growing Vegetables: The Basics Fayetteville, GA Growing your own vegetables can be a very rewarding experience. Join us for this beginner class to learn the basics of starting a vegetable garden. In this program, we will discuss how to grow vegetables, space requirements, selecting varieties to grow, and how to care for them during the growing season.
Mar 29 2025 SPRING FLING! Tyrone, GA Spring Fling is a night full of dancing, friends, and family! This event is open to all grade school aged students and their family members. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided as well as an on-site bake sale. By attending, you are helping us raise funds for Fayette County 4-H Summer Camp scholarships, the S.A.F.E. Archery team, and general 4-H needs! PLEASE NOTE: This event is for grades Pre-K thru 12 and their families only. If you are attending and you are an adult, you are required to have a child in attendance to participate in this event.
