RICHMOND COUNTY EXTENSION/4-H IS LOCATED AT 501 GREENE STREET, SUITE 100, AUGUSTA, GA 30901. WE ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE MAU BUILDING THAT IS LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF 5TH STREET AND GREENE STREET.


The University of Georgia Richmond County Extension Office is located in historic downtown Augusta. Our staff includes a full-time Agricultural Agent, two full-time Family & Consumer Science Agents, a 4-H Agent, and an Expanded Food & Nutrition Educator, plus several program assistants and two administrative assistants. Does Richmond County Extension offer soil and water testing?

Yes, Richmond County Extension Office accepts soil and water samples in our office, then we ship the samples to be tested at the 海角官方首页 lab in Athens. We offer a variety of soil and water tests. Please review the for a listing of the many types of analyses offered through our lab services. *Please note that prices in the fee schedule do not include postage and therefore do not reflect county testing prices. Prices and availability of testing services are subject to change. Contact us at 706-821-2350 to inquire about pricing and availability of test kits.

The most common soil test is the S1 (Routine Test) which tests soil for levels of pH, Lime, Phosphorous, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, and Manganese. We charge $8.00 for each S1 soil sample submission. We accept payments of cash, credit card, check or money order payable to Richmond County Extension. We are open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. It takes approximately 7-10 business days for S1 soil test results to be returned from the lab. Follow our soil sample instructions or view this brief for guidance on pulling a proper sample.


How can I identify what is causing problems with my plants?

Our experienced ANR staff can help you diagnose plant issues and offer advice to treat disease or pests that may be affecting your plants. Email photos of your plants and your questions to uge3245@uga.edu. Use this informative brochure to help guide you on the best ways to take photos of your plants for proper diagnosis.


What ages can participate in Richmond County 4-H Club?

Richmond County 4-H currently offers programming to youth in 4th - 12th grades in public school, private school or homeschool. Enroll and join us! Check out the 4-H Newsletter and Announcements page or visit the 4-H Clubs page to learn more about what's happening with Richmond County 4-H. Does Richmond County 4-H have summer camp options?

Absolutely! Richmond County 4-H offers several summer camp options for 4th through 12th graders. Check out our? ? ?4-H Summer Camps page for a complete listing of events and camp details. Contact uge3245f@uga.edu or 706-821-2350 to check availability. We start accepting registration and camp deposits in January.

Does Richmond County Extension offer a Master Gardener class?

Does Richmond County Extension offer in-home mold inspections?

海角官方首页 Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent can provide advice on prevention and control of mold in your home, but we do not visit homes for mold inspections.

Boxes of produce will be available for pick up on Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 20 at the Richmond County Extension Office, 501 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901 during normal business hours, 8:30am-5:00pm.   • Oct 18 Richmond County 4-H Fishing Club Richmond County 4-H Fishing Club is open to Richmond County youth in 4th through 12th grades during the 2025-2026 school year. No experience is necessary. We will learn about different local species and basic fishing steps. Fishing Club will meet one Saturday per month, 8:00am-11:00am at Spirit Creek Farm, 4010 Smokey Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. Fishing Club will meet in September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May, except for cancellations due to inclement weather. Join the Remind group for updates by texting @rc4hfish to 81010. Before attending a Fishing Club meeting, participants must pay a $10.00 registration fee and return the signed Spirit Creek Farm Liability Waiver to uge3245f@uga.edu and sandihoc@uga.edu.   • Oct 18 Richmond County 4-H Horse Club Richmond County 4-H Horse Club is open to Richmond County youth in 4th through 12th grades during the 2025-2026 school year. We will learn basic care and knowledge of horses, such as parts of a horse, grooming, tack, and feeding. We will meet at the horse field, so wear boots or any closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Horse Club will meet one Saturday per month 10:00am-12:00 Noon at Spirit Creek Farm, 4010 Smokey Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. Horse Club will meet in September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May, except for cancellations due to inclement weather.
