2025 Georgia Master Naturalist Training
Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., September 5-October 31, 2025
The Georgia Master Naturalist program is an adult environmental education course developed by the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and 海角官方首页 Cooperative Extension to provide active learning for people who wish to be more informed about habitats, natural resources, and the natural environments of our state.
Forsyth County Extension is pleased to offer Georgia Master Naturalist Training this fall. Classes for the nine-week course will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. every Friday from September 5-October 31, 2025. Training sessions will be a mix of classroom learning and outdoor field experiences. Field activities include exposure to outdoor elements and environments and may require walking long distances over uneven ground, hiking, wading in streams, bending, and kneeling. A minimum of 48 hours of instruction is required for course completion.
Classes will meet at the Forsyth County Extension office and other locations in Forsyth County. One session will be in Athens, Georgia
Tuition: $225. Includes instructional materials, field trip fees, Georgia Master Naturalist name badge and shirt, snacks, certificate of completion, and other training expenses. We do not provide lunch or transportation.

Trainees who complete Georgia Master Naturalist training with Forsyth County Extension may apply to become a Forsyth County Master Naturalist Extension Volunteer. Volunteering with 海角官方首页 Extension requires additional training and background screening.

We need your help to clear invasive plants from our parks! ?Grab your neighbor and join Forsyth County Extension and Parks & Recreation at our Environmental Action Workshops where we will teach you how to identify and remove Japanese stiltgrass. Workshops will be conducted at:
- Chattahoochee Pointe Park on July 18th and 19th
- Sawnee Mountain Preserve on July 25th and 26th
All workshops will run from 9-11am.

?Looking for a way to improve water quality around your home? Join us for our next Water Smart Landscapes and Rain Harvesting Workshop on July 22nd from 6-8pm. During this program you will learn about local water resources, how to design a low-input landscape, and how to harvest rainwater to improve water quality in your area. And you will take home your very own water barrel pictured below.
This program will be hosted at Central Park, it is sponsored by the Forsyth County Water & Sewer Department, and open to Forsyth County residents. The registration fee is $30, and for more details or to register, visit our website:
