Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How/where do I pay the $100 deposit?

Deposits may be paid by cash, money order, or check made out to Emanuel County Extension/4-H. It may be paid in person at our office located at 129 N Anderson Drive in Swainsboro during regular business hours (8-12, 1-5, M-F), left in our dropbox outside of those hours, or mailed.

How do we apply for a scholarship?

Scholarship applications are available to any of our 4-H’ers and can be picked up when the $100 deposit is paid. We will award at least 10 scholarships this year. If more than 10 scholarship applications are received, they are scored by a committee. The scores are based on the 4-Her’s responses to why they want to attend camp, what activities they’ve participated in, a teacher recommendation, and statement of need. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, April 4, 2025. Scholarship decisions will be shared with the applicants via email by April 18.

What kind of fundraisers are available?

This year, we are partnering with to provide each camper the opportunity to lower their cost by selling fresh, delicious boxes of produce!? 4-H'ers can take orders with a paper form or supporters can order and pay through the website. For every box sold, the 4-H'er will earn $10 towards their camp registration fee. In order to take advantage of the fundraiser, campers must be registered by Friday, March 14.

I didn't pay the $100 deposit within 5 business days. Can I still go to camp?

Yes, but your name will be placed at the back of the line. You may complete the online registration again or contact us to have your registration placed in the queue.

There's a waiting list for the camp that I'd like to attend. Should I still register?

Yes! We fully expect more spots to open up both as a result of withdrawals and when other counties fail to fill all of their spaces. You should register to ensure that your name is at the top of the list when those spaces become available! Please continue to monitor your email as we will notify you as soon as that happens. You will have 5 days to pay the deposit before that spot is offered to the next camper in line. Unfortunately, you cannot apply for a scholarship or participate in the fundraiser until you are off the waiting list and will have to wait until the deposit is paid. ?
