Project SAFE Shooting Sports

Emanuel County 4-H Project SAFE is the overarching title given to the four different 4-H shooting sports programs offered by the county program. Each of the programs is steered by a committee of certified volunteer coaches and the county 4-H leader that work together to charter the clubs annually, fundraise, and set schedules. To become a Certified Coach, adults must be a screened volunteer, meet annual 4-H volunteer requirements, and attend Georgia 4-H’s SAFE Coach Training that includes discipline-specific instruction as well as training on positive youth development and working with youth.?

Modified Trap
?is a shotgun discipline that challenges 4-H'ers to shoot 25 clay targets thrown by an electric trap machine.
- Youth participants must be in?6th-12th grade.?
- Registration fee this year is?$150?and includes match fees, shooter t-shirt, and all ammunition and targets for the season
- To be eligible for participation, all youth must have?completed a GA Hunter Safety Course?before the first practice.
- The?registration deadline is February 28, 2025, or when a maximum of 50 students have registered (whichever comes first).
To register, print, complete, and return the forms to the Extension/4-H Office located at 129 N. Anderson Drive in Swainsboro. All the details about the season and how to register is included in the information letter.
