4-H Youth Development
What is 4-H?
What is now 4-H began at the start of the 20th century. It all begun with the passage of the Smith Lever Act of 1914 which established the Extension service, of which 4-H is a part.
? 4-H stands for Head, Hands, Heart and Health. Green and white are the official 4-H colors.
? 4-H is a program primarily for 5th – 12th graders.
? 4-H is a cooperative program of the United States Department of Agriculture, University of Georgia.
All 4-H members gain confidence, positive self-concept, appreciate social and cultural diversity, love for learning, make new friends and have fun.
